Day 50: “Gold” – Linda Eder (2013)

I decided to switch things up a little bit today and share another song, which usually is a Thursday or a Sunday thing, instead of one of my usual Monday “ramblings and ruminations.”

I’ve been going back and rediscovering some neglected CDs and MP3s lately, and I rediscovered this particular song, from the Frank Wildhorn and Nan Knighton’s 2003 bio-musical Camille Claudel, this morning. Since fifty often is associated with color gold, it seemed like an appropriate day to share it.

The original studio version of the song (from Ms. Eder’s 2002 album Gold) also can be found on YouTube, but I think this live concert performance offers a superior interpretation.
